ADA Bus is in Topeka

March 18 - the Bus is at TILRC CIL in Topeka to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ADA and 35 years of grassroots advocacy.  Kansas activists have been hit with huge budget cuts in home and community based services. Bravo Mike and Reggie Oxford as well as Ami Hyten of Topeka Independent Living Resource Center for continued advocacy.  Here is a link to Topeka's event  http://www.tilrc.org/assests/ada25tilrc35.html

Here are a few pictures of the ADA Bus Team

What’s Cooking with the ADA 25 Bus Crew?    Meet Joy Weeber, Daily Activities Coordinator.   Joy joined the Road to Freedom ADA 25 Tour recently and will be “On the bus” (Ken Kesey style) until the end of July…unless we can invite her to stay longer.

Here is Joe Tate, dedicated co-pilot and organizer from Austin.  He’s reading a bit before a night of deserved rest.  Thanks Joe and Austin ADAPT. Joe is back home after the Denver ADA 25 tour stop.

Now we have Tom Olin with the iconic Road to Freedom Bus. We nicknamed him “Major Tom” after the David Bowie song “Ground Control to Major Tom.”

The next stop is Columbia, MO on March 30th and 31st.  Here is a link with more detail about their event  http://www.silcolumbia.org/ada/
